Newberry to Start at Center

Jeremy Newberry

Several reports indicate that Jeremy Newberry will start at center for the Raiders on Sunday, replacing Jake Grove who started at 16 games last year at the position. Grove has started 32 games at center over the previous three seasons.

Newberry is larger than Grove, suggesting that the Raiders want to beef up on the offensive line. Grove has quicker feet than Newberry, but that did little to stop opposing defenses last season.
