What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas

So much for a quiet summer, leading up to training camp. Javon Walker, one of the Raiders off season acquisitions was discovered unconscious on the streets of Las Vegas with his face caved in on Monday morning.

KVVU, Sin City's Fox affiliate reported that Walker was mugged after a wild party at the Wynn Hotel. according to the city’s Fox affiliate. Walker was reportedly seen “spraying the crowd with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered,” according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

So now what happens to the Raiders already weak receiving corps if the guy slated to be the team's top wide out has a serious injury? Already a suspect signing, Walker was good for eight games in 2007 with the Denver Broncos. He had a paltry 26 catches for 287 yards and zero touchdowns.

The Raiders were hoping for some smash-mouthed football from their free-agent pickups this season, but this is rediculous.

McFadden Inked

Reports out of Alameda suggest that the Raiders have signed Darren McFadden to a six-year $60 million contract. The deal calls for $26 million in gauranteed money. The Raiders are believed to be holding a press conference at 11am on Friday.

The Jamarcus Russell debacle last year prompted the Raiders to get their 2008 draft day prize signed so he would be in camp from day one. That ordeal turned out to be a plus or a minus, depending on how you look at it.

McFadden won't be a hold out like Russell was last season, but did that force the Raiders to sign the rookie running back at a higher price than they would have paid with a little more negotiating leverage?
